Differences Between Artificial Sand and Sea Sand
Artificial sand is also called mechanism sand, that is to produce artificial sand by mechanical equipment. Generally it refers to make rocks or pebble into the sand used in construction through the VSI impact crusher (commonly known as sand making machine). The surface of artificial sand particle is rough and with many edges; its combination with cement and aggregate is very good, mechanical keying strength is very strong, so the intensity of artificial sand is stronger than natural sand.
Shanghai Shunky artificial sand making production line includes mechanism sand dry process production line and wet process production line. Both the sand production lines can be applied in the process of hard limestone, granite, basalt, cobble, smelting slag of a variety of aggregate. Those produced material are suitable for industries of water and electricity, building materials, highway, urban construction and other industries.
Sea sand, that is etched by sea water and without treatment by freshwater. Sea sand mainly comes from the border of sea and rivers. There is chloridion in sea sand, if the chloridion is excessive it will strictly etch reinforcing steel bars.
Therefore, in August 2004, national ministry of construction has issued a “opinions about the ?strict management of sea sand used in construction”. The file refers that there was strict rules about sea sand mining except desalination process and concrete mixing, and the sea sand used in construction projects must be specially treated by freshwater. If you want to use sea sand in reinforced concrete, the chloride ion content in sea sand should not be more than six over ten thousand.
